Duel of the Fates, featuring Darth Maul, Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi The prequels, released more recently, came under heavy fire from critics for not living up to the standards of the previous three movies – but there were a few special moments in the series, not least this epic lightsabre fight. You can’t listen to the epic choral barrage that is ‘Duel of the Fates’ without picturing the incredible fight-to-the-death. We hope the new movies will come with plenty of awesome moments like this.
Rebel Ship vs Star Destroyer
The unforgettable shot of the colossal Star Destroyer chasing the Rebel ship Tantive IV is one what captures what Star Wars is about for many. The Star Destroyer simply kept on coming, with more of the enormous ship coming into shot as the Rebel ship sank into the distance – for its era, it was an incredible technical achievement of special effects, and one that still impresses today.
“I love you.” “I know.” (Han and Leia)
Star Wars has romance at its very core, and the relationship between Han Solo and Princess Leia has captured the hearts of so many. When they’re finally captured, Han’s life hangs in the balance when he’s chosen to test a freezing mechanism that could backfire. Leia finally tells him that she loves him, and Han responds in true rebel style – “I know.” Star Wars couples all over the world have since adopted this sweet little phrase as their own.
“I am your father.”
